It’s that time of the year…the snow is starting to fall, the hot cocoa is flowing, and the kid in you can’t help but crave a delicious marshmallow topper to complete the whole experience.
Traditional marshmallow options can be full of preservatives, artificial flavors, and of course gelatin (animal based), but we put together a list of our top 5 vegan, plant-based options that taste just as good (if not better!), that will satisfy your craving for that pillowy, sweet treat.

TJ’s has done it again. They always manage to bring us the most innovative, plant-based products that we’re craving, at just the right time! These little gems are vegan, mini, and perfect for any cup of cocoa. They are also a very affordable and easily accessible option. That’s why they come in at our number one spot.
#2) Funky Mello marshmallow creme
This funky little brand is based out of Austin, TX and is revolutionizing the marshmallow world! They don’t do the traditional marshmallow cubes, but instead offer delicious marshmallow cremes, in a variety of unique, crave-able flavors. In addition, these cremes are free from the top 8 allergens and totally plant based. Scoop some into your hot cocoa, or spread on toast or in between cookies for a sweet dessert treat.
#3) Dandies vegan marshmallows
One of the OGs of vegan marshmallow brands, Dandies is well known for their vegan marshmallow products – and for good reason. They have tons of different size options and flavors, and are readily available at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Amazon, and on their website (not to mention a lot of other smaller natural foods stores). These yummy little mallowy pillows have no corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors, and are absolutely delicious. Their Peppermint flavored mallows are one of our favorites for the holiday season.

This is a great brand, available on Amazon (with 2 day Prime!) if you are looking for a larger sized marshmallow – perfect for cocoa, but also perfect for roasting over the fire and enjoying a giant vegan s’more! These are deliciously vegan and also gluten free, so stock up for all your marshmallow needs.
