4 Vegan Hot Chocolate Drink Recipes + A Boozy One Too!

It’s National Hot Chocolate Day so of course, we have some of the best recipes so you can celebrate. Even if you don’t make it today, every day should be Hot Chocolate Day. Grab your ingredients, your favorite mug, and enjoy!

Spiced Chai Vegan Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2-3 tablespoons of Vegan Instant Hot Cocoa Mix

2   tablespoons of Chai Tea Latte

6 to 8 oz of almond milk or water

 Instructions:

  1. Warm milk over low heat.
  2. Combine all the ingredients together.  We recommend sifting, whisking, or pulsing in a food processor. Then add into the warm milk.
  3. Stir, add to your favorite cup, and enjoy!

 

Salted Caramel Vegan Hot Chocolate 

This one requires a little more work but its worth it! This recipe combines two delicious, tasty flavors into one super flavorful drink.

 

Ingredients: 

Hot Chocolate

8 oz almond milk or water

3 tablespoons of Toasted Marshmallows Vegan Instant Hot Cocoa Mix

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Ingredients:

Salted Caramel

¼ cup organic raw brown sugar

1/4 of full-fat coconut milk

1 Tablespoon of vegan butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 

Instructions: 

Hot Chocolate

  1. Begin by heating the milk (separately)
  2. Slowly add in your instant hot cocoa mix. Whisk until creamy.
  3. Add vanilla and salt

Instructions:

Caramel

  1. Add all of the ingredients except for the vanilla to the warm milk. Cook over medium heat for about 5-10 minutes. Whisk until the entire mixture thickens.
  2. Turn off the heat and then add vanilla and lightly stir.
  3. Slowly add the caramel mixture into your hot chocolate mixture.
  4. Pout into your favorite mug and enjoy!

 

Peanut Butter Vegan Hot Chocolate

Reward yourself with this amazing, indulging, delicious goodness in a cup. Don’t feel guilty, but also don’t ask how many points this is. There are no points for fun!

 

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups  full-fat coconut milk (or almond milk)

¼ cup almond milk 

3  oz  vegan bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate 

¼ cup creamy peanut butter

4  TBS  granulated sugar or coconut sugar

2  TBS  Vegan Instant Hot Cocoa Mix

1  tsp  pure vanilla extract

1/8  tsp  sea salt 

 Instructions:

  1. Add coconut milk, almond milk, chocolate, peanut butter and sugar to a small saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  2. Whisk continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add,  Vegan Instant Hot Cocoa Mix, vanilla and sea salt and continue to whisk until combined and warm. 
  4. Cover and remove from heat.  Let the mix sit covered for 5 minutes before serving. Note: if you like thick, hot cocoa, serve immediately.

 

Classic Vegan Hot Chocolate

The classic hot chocolate never fails to please the crowd. This is great if you are looking for a lighter option for the whole family to enjoy.

 

Ingredients:

Ingredients:

6 to 8 oz unsweetened almond milk

2-3 tablespoons of Vegan Instant Hot Cocoa Mix

1 oz Vanilla Rum (Bacardi works great)

Sprinkle of cinnamon

 Instructions:

  1. Warm milk over low heat.
  2. Combine all the ingredients (except the cinnamon) together.  We recommend sifting, whisking, or pulsing in a food processor. Then add into the warm milk.
  3. Stir, add a dash of cinnamon and enjoy!
